I've been sensitive to the land for as long as I can remember.

As a young man, I felt energies at certain places—an atmosphere in nature that others seemed to walk right past. I was called on dream journeys to sacred sites, meeting mountain beings in visions I couldn't explain. Something was reaching toward me. But I had no framework, no teacher, no way to understand what was happening.

I read every book on Norse mythology I could find, sensing depth that no author seemed to touch. The stories felt like they meant something more—like they were pointing at something real. But every book treated them as entertainment. Dead religion. Primitive beliefs we'd outgrown.

My father, Erlendur Haraldsson, spent his career as a University of Iceland professor documenting that Icelanders experience more contact with the unseen than any other European population. His research proved the phenomena were real. But no one was asking the obvious question: What creates these experiences? Is there a method?

At thirty-six, I sat on Mount Hoffell in eastern Iceland to find out. Not as a scholar analyzing texts, but as a practitioner—attempting útiseta, "sitting out," the völva's ancient meditation. I didn't know if there was anything real to find.

For thirty years since, I've practiced útiseta at Iceland's sacred sites. I've mapped the mathematics preserved in the dwarf-lists and the Völuspá. I've traced the sacred geography from Snæfellsjökull to Hoffell to sites across the Northern world. The teachings I received as dreams became waking transmission. The beings I'd glimpsed became teachers.

What I Discovered Is This:

The sagas and Eddas aren't stories. They're instruction manuals. And the völva tradition they preserve is a complete system for consciousness transformation—as sophisticated as anything in the East, but designed for Northern bodies and Northern land.
